Give Someone an Extra Life
Recently, my long-time good buddy Justin sent me a message that he was hosting a team for Extra Life.
Extra Life is a fundraiser for cancer research and working towards an eventual cure. The premise is that on October 17th (a Saturday), you play games for twenty four hours. It doesn’t have to be straight, obviously, and it’s on the honor system, but it’s an incentive to get people to play with a good cause in mind.
You can read the FAQ on the website if you’d like to know more, but the fundraiser thrives on donations to ‘team members’. Member’s of Justin’s team set a personal goal, and you tell as many people as you know about it, and see if they’ll sponsor your team with a few dollars. It can be as little or as much as they’d want to donate, but there’s no losers in this gaming event.
So, as a member of Justin’s team, I’m taking up the torch to relay this on my site and make you guys aware. If you can spare anything to sponsor Justin or I during this fundraiser, we’d greatly appreciate it.
If you’re interested in joining the team itself, let me know personally so I can talk to Justin and I’ll see if we can get you in. Team sizes are limited, so don’t be upset if I can’t get you in.
